The Exhibition

The Papalote Project was last on exhibit at the Levine Museum of the New South (200 E. Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28202.) The exhibit highlighted the stories of Charlotte children who have been impacted by the deportation of one of their parents.  The exhibit, titled El Papalote Mágico (The Magic Kite), featured handmade kites created by these children and was on display at Levine Museum in February 3, 2013.  Presented in conjunction with the museum’s Latino New South project,  El Papalote Mágico sparked interest and feedback from visitors.  One museum visitor expressed, “We are grateful that Levine Museum has exhibits like The Magic Kite that gives us a voice and a presence in the Charlotte community.”
